Manufacturing
Scale-up

The fabrication of ultra-strong composites that are designed, optimized, and prototyped in the other projects will be scaled up for the manufacture of test panels. Improvements in raw material quality and manufacturing techniques improve the material integrity.

Material Characterization

The material structure of the manufactured composite panels are analyzed on multiple length scales using a wide range of characterization techniques, including X-Ray, Raman, SEM, and STEM. The results of this characterization are used to improve the quality of material manufacturing.
